Advantages of Travel Toothbrushes

If you're going on a long vacation or a prolonged trip across the country, taking your normal kit of toiletries with you might not be realistic. Even if you have the ability to transport it, the kit might end up taking valuable space in your luggage that could be used for other things that will help you both along the journey and when you reach its endpoint. Because of that sad fact of life, many companies that make toiletries also have travel versions of them. The most celebrated of these is of course the travel toothbrush as it has been a fixture in travel kits and hotel lobbies for a very long time. Even though travel toothbrushes are quite old, they still have a number of advantages going for them.

The most obvious example of these is of course the fact that travel toothbrushes are quite compact. The older brushes for this purpose were just smaller versions of normal toothbrushes but as time has gone on, ingenious ideas have been put forward for brushes that did a lot more than just shrink in size. Some of the brushes now come with dispensers for toothpaste so that you can just fill them at home and leave your toothpaste tube behind, therefore saving even more room in the process. There are also some brushes that can be screwed into a plastic cap that keeps the toothbrush safe and clean until you need to use it at which point you can screw it out and turn it over to get the full travel toothbrush effect. This allows you to simply carry the brush in your pocket or in a small pouch of your luggage case as opposed to needing a separate kit for it and that in turn once again saves you a bit of space. If you travel a lot you know that every little bit helps as far as space is concerned and that is pr eci

sely why these types of toothbrushes have become so popular over the course of time.

Another important advantage that toothbrushes for traveling bring to the table is their longevity. If you use a toothbrush at home everyday, you are going to have to replace it within a few months because of the bristles on the brush going bad. If you use a travel toothbrush once or twice a month however, what you will find is that these brushes last a very long time. They are more durable than their at-home counterparts and that means that you could conceivably use one for a year or more if you do not use it that often. The normal wear and tear over time is a lot less noticeable on these types of brushes and that means that they are not an investment that you are going to have to make frequently. Even if they were however, you would still not be out that much because the average toothbrush for travel does not cost a lot of money. For all these reasons, toothbrushes built especially for travel are definitely worthwhile purchases.
